Love for humanity has been identifiable in my character since I was four years old.
Writing became my outlet by ten, at a time when I didn’t believe my voice mattered. It helped me sort through the pain and arrive at my purpose.
Now I’m using the outlet that God gave me to create opportunities for marginalized persons, aimed to educate, empower, and generate wealth.
More wealth means less poverty. Less poverty equates to less crime, and that is beneficial for all of humanity.
I wanted to write a blog with guidelines on how to awaken the entrepreneur within. My husband suggested I “host a Podcast”.
As he had the better idea, I began documenting my journey. Three months later, Moving Over Mountains (MOMS) was born.
Although passionate about helping others, the voice in my head is often crippling as it asks “who you to advise anyone?
The words of A Different World’s Whitley Gilbert comes to mind, ”I AM A VOICE IN THIS WORLD, AND I DESERVE TO BE HEARD TO THE MOUNTAINTOPS!”
Let us make this climb, together!
I suppose my parents are equally to be blamed and praised for me being who I am. I think the greatest lesson I’ve learned thus far in this journey called life is that it does not come with a magic wand. It doesn’t give us perfect circumstances, perfect parents, or perfect kids. Doesn’t make us perfect either.
Whether good or bad, right or wrong, life simply provides us with lessons that are opportunities for growth. These opportunities are often masked in pain as thick as mud, and it’s hard to see your way through. Recognize that although hard, it is necessary. For that is where the breakthrough begins.
